Grammer AG, August 26, 2021 – A strong pair of seats from Grammer with the perfect twist: The MSG 115 is the first premium driver’s seat with air suspension that can be equipped with a swivel adapter, plus the new Cinema Seat from the MSG 115 modular system, which also swivels. In this way, Grammer is offering its OEM customers an innovative solution for greater variability in medium and heavy-duty truck cabs.
With the new driver/passenger seat combination, the Cinema Seat takes center stage: As its name suggests, the seat surface can be folded up to save space. But that’s not all: The passenger seat has a two-part backrest, the upper section of which can be tilted forward by 90 degrees, allowing it to be used as a table or storage area. As well as this, the Cinema Seat is mounted on a swivel adapter and can thus be locked in various positions. “In combination with our proven premium MSG 115 swiveling driver’s seat, we are creating new possibilities for use during truck stand and break times,” says Dr. Andreas Diehl, President Division Commercial Vehicles at Grammer AG. “The new pair of seats, which is already being used in a series application on the European market, enhances comfort and gives drivers added living space inside the cab.”
Another product benefit is the improved road safety: If the seat remains folded up while driving, the Cinema Seat’s narrow, compact silhouette makes it easier for the driver to keep track of other road users such as cyclists or pedestrians on the passenger side. The new Grammer product is thus primarily designed for modern vehicle generations that feature low window lines or optional viewing windows in the lower part of the passenger door.
As is the case with its entire commercial vehicle seat range, Grammer is also helping to make the workplace as comfortable as possible for professionals behind the truck wheel with the new seat combination from the MSG 115 family. In addition to air suspension, adjustable dampers and longitudinal horizontal suspension, the fully equipped premium driver’s seat also includes features such as automatic weight adjustment, pneumatic lumbar support, an active climate control system plus seat heating and adjustable side bolsters and shoulder support.
