Amberg, July 25, 2019 – Since the ground-breaking ceremony on March 1, 2018, Grammer’s new corporate headquarters and the state-of-the-art technology center in Ursensollen have made great progress. Today, the topping-out ceremony marking the completion of the building shell in the first construction phase was celebrated. Grammer CEO Manfred Pretscher expressed his gratitude to the builders and craftsmen, architects and construction company Max Bögl, which is implementing the project, praising them for their good work. Members of the company’s Supervisory Board and of the employee representative council also attended the celebration.
“On behalf of the entire Grammer team, I would like to thank all those responsible for this project for their commitment and outstanding work. The results are fantastic. The office buildings and also our new state-of-the-art technology center reflect our Company’s innovativeness. Grammer’s Executive Board and staff are looking forward to moving into the new buildings,” said Manfred Pretscher, CEO of Grammer.
The new building, which is being constructed on a plot of land measuring around 47,000 square meters, is the largest construction project in Grammer’s history. The company is investing a total of more than EUR 40 million in two construction phases. The buildings in the first construction phase are expected to be completed at the end of the year, with the Executive Board and part of the administration staff subsequently moving to the new premises. Looking forward, a total of more than 700 Grammer employees will be working at the new site in Ursensollen.
Modern and attractive working environment
In addition to the corporate headquarters with office space of 22,000 square meters and the technology center, the Grammer campus in Ursensollen will also comprise a design and ergonomics laboratory as well as a staff restaurant. For the first time, all research and development activities will be pooled in a single place at the technology center, thus providing the physical basis for optimum collaboration between the various departments.
Grammer’s uppermost goal is to create an attractive, healthy, sustainable and modern working environment in which employees are able to work and communicate creatively and efficiently. This will be achieved by means of high and light offices, various meeting rooms and several communication hubs. Grammer also attaches key importance to sustainability. Thus, regional materials have very largely been used in the construction of the new buildings. Green roofs will reduce heat reflection in the summer and simultaneously bind particulate matter. At the same time, the heating and lighting systems will be designed for maximum energy efficiency.
