Amberg, September 24, 2018 – IAA, the world’s largest exhibition for commercial vehicles, is taking place on September 20 – 27 in Hannover, Germany. This year, the focus will be on automation and networking, safety, environmental protection, electromobility and new approaches to logistics and traffic in the city of the future. In addition to its new Roadtiger truck seats, automotive seat and interior specialist Grammer will be particularly also presenting its innovative range of bus passenger seats.
Grammer AG is one of the leading producers of driver and passenger seats for commercial vehicles, particularly trucks, buses and trains. Over the last few years, there has been a rapid increase in urban transport, cross-country and city connections as well as metropolitan and regional transport beyond the city limits. Reflecting this development, the market for bus seat has also grown in importance. Having detected this trend, Grammer has realigned its product strategy accordingly and is offering its customers individually tailored products, high flexibility and swift implementation.
Back on the road: additions to bus seat range
One main element in Grammer’s new product range is bus passenger seats. The specialist in automotive seats and interiors now wants to leverage its extensive knowledge in the rail segment to offer a full range of bus seats and to specifically position itself in this market segment.
“Our goal is to become a full-line supplier in the bus segment in the same way that we already are in the rail segment. We are now putting this vision into practice step by step and, looking forward over the next three years, will be developing and launching new products in all business segments,” says Ralf Hoppe, press officer for GRAMMER AG.
The first new product – a new bus passenger seat for urban transit – will be released at the beginning of 2019. This will be followed by a new premium bus passenger seat also in 2019. The range of seats for regional and intercity transport is to be revised in 2019/2020.
New-generation Roadtiger seats setting new standards
A further highlight of the Grammer stand is the new Roadtiger seats. Grammer’s new-generation Roadtiger seats set new standards in their segment in terms of ergonomics, comfort and safety and can be retrofitted to the cabins of leading European truck OEMs. With their impressive design and materials, the Roadtiger driver seats will be available in three versions - Standard, Comfort and Luxury. Only materials of the highest order are used. Thus, the Luxury version features leather of a quality normally only found in the automotive luxury class. The Europe-wide launch is planned for fall 2018.
Grammer can be found in Hall 11 Stand E17 at IAA.
